JOHN GUERKIN, of No. 63 New Bowery, was knocked down near his residence on Sunday by four men, who beat him over the head with a blunt instrument, and robbed him of $164. The Police arrested DANIEL and THOMAS McGRATH, of No. 28 Madison-street, and WM. BROWN, of No. 103 Madison-street, on a charge of committing the robbery and assault.

By the arrival of the Juniata at Philadelphia, and the receipt of her mails in this City at 13, A. M. today. our Havana correspondent's letter. dated April 12, is at hand. No events of importance had occurred since ho last wrote. Concerning RODAS' movements he writes: "The Captain-General appears to have things his own way in the vicinity of Puerto Principe.

A tornado broke over Lishon. Portugal, on Sunday night, by which great damage to property was caused. Several persons were killed and ?? injured in the streets. Many vessels were wrecked in the Tagus. A Lisbon dispatch says much loss had recently been done to shipping at Buenos Ayres by a tempest.

A London dispatch says the steamer City of Boston is not yet posted at Lloyd's as lost, and until then insurances will not be paid on her. The whale and seal fisheries are reported successful this season by vessels arriving at British ports.

The steam-ships Russia. from Liverpool April 9 and Queenstown April 10, and Silesia from Hamburg April 7 and Havre April 9, reached this port yesterday, The latest advices are later by two days than those at hand by the City of Washington, Monday evening. The Captain of the Sliseia will accept out thanks for late continental papers.

The arrival of emigrants at this port yesterday was unprecedentedly large, and the number passing through Castle Garden greater than n any one day since the beginning of the year.
